The mission of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Activities League is to invest in all youth of the San Mateo County by creating opportunities that guide them toward their full potential through impactful programs, which foster relationships between deputies, youth, families, and the community.

The Sheriff’s Activities League is constantly striving to build strong, positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve by providing resources to help youth in our community reach their full potential. Our vision is to build a strong continuous bond between law enforcement and youth to foster a safe and supportive environment for families within San Mateo County. The Sheriff’s Activities League is making a difference for the youth in San Mateo County with the following initiatives:


71% of SAL's youth have a positive perception towards law enforcement.

Connection

88% of youth in SAL's Healthy Kids increased their knowledge of nutrition.

Nutrition Education

89% of participants lowered or maintained a healthy BMI (body mass index).

Physical Activities

85% of participants improved confidence and grades within the first 3 months of the program.

Literacy Programs

85% of youth enrolled in SAL's tutoring program improved their overall GPA.

Academic Achievements

91% of leadership program participants gain vital skills to build stronger relationships.

Mentoring Programs

96% of leadership program participants felt supported and accepted.

Anti Bullying Seminars

The Sheriff's Activities League is a unique program within San Mateo County that creates a continuous bond between law enforcement, youth, and the communities we serve.

of youth live below the poverty line and would benefit from services offered by SAL but staffing and logistic issues are a significant hurdle.
